Eastman's somewhat breezy 4-pp article recounts his detention in a Madrid jail for having participated in a meeting of the Left Opposition, at the invitation of Trotskyist journalist Francisco Garcia Lavid (better known in radical circles under his pseudonym, "Henri Lacroix"). Other contributors to this issue include André Maurois, Christian Gauss, Grace Flandrau, Capt. John W. Thomason, Ludwig Lewisohn, others.
