El Paso, Texas: Carl Hertzog / Texas Western Press, 1952. Lowman, 76. One of 525 copies printed at The Pass of the North from type set by hand. This copy is also one of 50 printed on Tan Ticonderga Text, and one of 24 that had the first drawing hand colored by the artist. This copy is also signed beneath the first drawing by Jose Cisneros and Francis Fugate. In 1953, it was rebound by Whiteman Bennett in full Moroccan leather with beautiful gilt stamped lettering and decoration. All edges of text are gilded. Marbled end leaves. There is a little light wear at spine ends and some slight scratches on top cover. . Volume is otherwise Fine and now in a clear Mylar protective sleeve. The volume is housed in its original tan colored slipcase that shows a few smudges on one side. . Signed. First Edition. Full Leather. Very Good+/No Dust Jacket. Illus. by Jose Cisneros. 4to.
