Chicago: S. C. Griggs, 1886. First printing. Hardcover. Very Good. 8vo, green cloth, very good, with tipped in facsimile of a typed letter from Kedzie to front pastedown and stamp "Compliments of J. H. Kedzie" on first blank. Mounted to the rear pastedown is a Supplement to Solar Heat, Gravitation (etc.) with some pencil notes on the first page, including by Kedzie, who writes, "I had hoped to hear from you by this time. J. H. K." This pamphlet is 13 pp and has a little waterstaining to lower outer corner. Kedzie made more of a name for himself as a real estate entrepeneur and developer and was a significant force in Chicago and especially Evanston in developing the region: astronomy and physics seems to have been a private avocation and not his main day job.
