Solidly bound in full blue cloth w/gilt debossed titles on spine, blind-stamped titles on front. Front panel has reddish smudge at upper right corner and greenish smudge below that. Back panel has discolored areas. Edges rubbed, corners bumped, some scuffed, spine head and heel cloth is worn. Tight and solid sewn binding, Front endpapers have a stamp, a label-like affixture, previous owner name and address. The name and address are also on the back ep. Text is clear and unmarked, no tears, no underlining or highlighting, lightly toned. 24 illustrations--sitting and standing positions, exercises for tonality, inflexions, pantomime, stage-settings, etc. Includes fundamentals of speech, speech composition, interpretation, platform speaking and reading, dramatics, group activities. Appendices included--correction of speech defects, open forums, story-telling hour, etc. Index included. A classic speech text. 504 pages. 5.5 x 8 inches. Publisher: New York. Macmillan, 1931.
