Washington [D.C.]: Printed at the Congressional Globe Office, 1862. First edition. Self wrappers. A very good copy with minor notations and blind stamp on front wrapper, light foxing to margin, mail fold.. 15 pp. 8vo. The leader of the Copperheads and an opponent of the War, Vallandigham argues in this speech against a forced Government paper currency, predicting depreciation and final explosion, and that this bill shall wreck the government as surely as the war. Vallandigham would eventually cause so much grief that he was put on trial and later dragged from Ohio across the state line into the Confederacy.
