Then begin speeches by Webster on various subjects he made while in the Senate from 1835 to 1840. Museum stamps and name in pencil, heavy edge wear, splits at ft joint and hinge, tanning on endpapers. .

Tappan & Dennet, 1843. Hardcover. Very Good. 1843. 520 pages. No dust jacket. Brown marbled boards half bound in green leather. Pages are clean and bright, and appear almost good as new. With minimal tanning throughout. Binding has remained firm. Boards are a little rub worn, slight shelf wear to corners, spine and edges. Corners are a little bumped. Spine ends are mildly crushed. Tanning to spine and edges. Boards are bowed. Book has a forward lean. Water marks to boards and spine.

Volume One: later printing; Volume Two: first edition. 8vo., dark green cloth, spines lettered and decorated in gilt, frontis portrait of Webster in Volume One. Ex-library, no external marks. Pencil ownership. Sun to spines, with wear to heels and crowns, including a shallow chip to the crown of Volume One. Mild wear, bumps to extremes else, and mild rubbing to boards, with a touch of bubbling to the cloth at one front board. Hinges starting. Good plus copies, with clean texts, and just slight wear to a few fore-edges.

Boston: Perkins & Marvin, 1838. Hardcover. 2 Vols. 5.75 x 9.25in. viii. 520pp.; 482pp. Publisher's ribbed cloth with gilt lettering. VERY GOOD. Both volumes show marginal shelf rubbing of the extremities, spines very lightly toned, light scattered foxing throughout and heavy at the frontmost and backmost of the text-block, former owner names of the period at the front paste-downs and endpapers, otherwise the bindings are strong and tight, the text is unmarked, and the boards remain distinct. As pictured.
