DiTerlizzi (born September 6, 1969) is an American fantasy artist, children's book creator, and motion picture producer. DiTerlizzi created The Spiderwick Chronicles series with Holly Black, and was an executive producer on the 2008 film adaptation of the series. He won a Caldecott Honor Medal for his adaptation of The Spider and the Fly. Holly Black [nee Riggenbach] (born November 10, 1971) is an American writer and editor best known for The Spiderwick Chronicles, a series of children's fantasy books she created with writer and illustrator Tony DiTerlizzi, and a trilogy of Young Adult novels often called the Modern Tale of Faerie trilogy. Her 2013 novel Doll Bones was named a Newberry Medal honor book. In 2003, Black published the first two books of The Spiderwick Chronicles, a collaboration with artist Tony DiTerlizzi. The fifth and last book in the series reached the top of the New York Times Bestseller list in 2004."
