Sobre este artículo

London: Faber and Faber, 1964. First edition. Cloth. Near Fine/Near Fine. 7.5" by 5". None. A first edition copy of this historical work of fiction by William Golding, which follows the construction of a medieval cathedral, in the original unclipped dust wrapper. First Edition. In the original unclipped dust wrapper. This the a wonderful copy of William Golding's 'The Spire', first published in 1964, which is described as a 'dark and powerful portrait of one man's will'. This book follows the construction of a medieval cathedral, and seems to have been loosely inspired by the Salisbury Cathedral. William Golding (1911-1993) was a British novelist, playwright, and poet, particularly known for works such as 'Lord of the Flies', as well as 'To the Ends of the Earth'. He was awarded the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1983. Collated, complete. In the publisher's original cloth binding, in the original unclipped dust wrapper. Externally, excellent, with no noticeable faults other than the lightest of fading along the edges of boards. Dust wrapper is excellent, with minimal edge wear and just a bit of light age-toning to the top edge of wraps, particularly to the fly leaves and reverse, as well as along the spine region of reverse. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very clean throughout, with light age-toning to pages which does not affect the text. Near Fine
