Published at 19, Old Boswell Court, Temple Bar. Printed by Joseph Rogerson. In original wraps, with a cover illustration of a hunter with his rifle and dog, as well as several game animals. 52 numbered pages plus several unnumbered index pages and several unnumbered pages of ads in the rear. This volume offers tales and advice on hunting and fishing, as well items on horse racing, many articles on hunting with hounds, an article on hunting in Canada, on hunting tiger, and hunting in the Orient, etc. It also contains a list of winning horses for the year 1836. This magazine continued the magazine 'The Sportsman and Veterinary Recorder' and was replaced with New sporting magazine, Sporting review, and from July 1846, Sporting magazine [British Library records]. This volume lacks the one illustrated plate and has a two by 2 ½ inch piece cut out of an article on page 39/40 and a 2 ½ inch by 7 inch column cut out on page 41/42. In POOR/FAIR condition. Minor soiling to the covers. Moderate to heavy fading and scuffing. Heavy tattering to the extremities including the spine and the pages of the magazine themselves. Several small chips and tears present to the covers. Cover is DETACHED from the text. The text block is saddle stitched and is weak but still intact. Text is clean with minor darkening to the pages. The pages of ads in the rear are unopened. A rather hard to find hunting journal in POOR/FAIR condition. Photos available upon request.

Sobre Mare Booksellers

Mare Booksellers specializes in punk fanzines, with interests in underground newspapers and art. Who are we kidding? We really like anything with printed or handwritten letters, whether paper, books, etc. (Okay, letters and words aren't really that important either).
