This book is the result of a remarkable natural history film study of the grey squirrel carried out by John Paling of Oxford Scientific Films for the BBC Wildlife on One television series. The star of the film was a squirrel nicknamed 'Sammy'. He was found abandoned by his mother only a few days old; blind and without fur, he was utterly helpless. His chances of survival were few until he was adopted by a cat family. The mother cat accepted him and fed him as one of her own kittens. Sammy's life as a 'squitten' was unusual and not without its humorous adventures. Beautifully illustrated in colour and black and white this volume will please both the amateur and the serious natural history lover.
