This is a first edition of the work, in smart black cloth binding with the original, unclipped dust wrapper, with an eye-catching red fore edge to the top of the novel. Len Deighton is a British author known for his novels on espionage and military history. He has written a number of works on the Second World War, including this one, which has since been adapted into a 2017 television series. This particular novel is set after the Second World War in an alternative future, where Germany won the war and Britain is now occupied. Set less than a year after the surrender of Britain, this novel follows the story of detective Douglas Archer as he investigates a curious murder.In a dust wrapper designed by English graphic designer and author, Raymond Hawkey. In original publisher's cloth binding with unclipped dust wrapper. Externally, in excellent condition, with the odd small mark to boards.
