The facsimile measures 5-1/2" by 8-3/8" and contains 36 pages including front and rear covers; the separate English Translation insert measures 5-1/2" by 8-1/2" and contains eight pages including front and rear covers. Packed with political cartoons from the German press during the war years; the captions and related text, shown in the German language in the facsimile edition, are translated in the English translation insert. The SS writes, in short part, "These pictures accompany our war against plutocrats and bolsheviks - These cartoons - the work of political artists with an eye for the enemy's weaknesses plus the creative talent to mirror them with pen and ink - confirm the words of the great Nietzsche - that laughter can kill."
