Half bound hard-grain morocco leather over Turkish Spot marbled paper on boards; five raised bands on spine; panels blind stamped with quatrefoils and gilt stamped with title; all edges reddish-brown sprinkled; rose-brown end papers. Clean covers and spine; very slightly rubbed at spine end corners and cover fore corners; board just exposed at front cover top fore corner; some scraping and scratches on marbled paper at cover centers; tightly bound; contemporary ink signature on title page; occasional foxing interior and several pages age darkened at fore edges; all leaves remain supple. From the 2nd London edition. 12mo, 280 pp.

Very light wear to extremities, contents age- toned (mainly endpapers), bindings are tight. Volume I is INSCRIBED AND SIGNED to E.T.I. Thygesen. Laid-in are also 2 letters addressed to Mr.Thygesen, also SIGNED by Sawyer. One of the letters includes a personal handwritten postcript to Mr. Thygesen, and a list of page references in the 2 volumes for Mr. Thygesen to look-up. A warm asscociation copy with 2 interesting associated letters. One of the letters is partially darkened (but clearly readable) by offsetting of a newpaper clipping which is also laid-in.
