Schabacker was the youngest financial editor of Forbes Magazine and wrote three influential books on the stock market, Stock Market Theory and Practice, 1930; Technical Analysis and Stock Market Profits, 1932; and Stock Market Profits, 1934, before he died at the young age of 36.

"This volume stands out as the supreme compendium of stock market knowledge and information. The author has long been known and widely read as one of the most experienced and dependable authorities on banking, finance, and practical stock market trading. It is no exaggeration to say that he has complied the most complete, all-embracing handbook that has ever been published on the subject. It is a simple, straight-forward and readable explanation of everything the reader could wish to know about organized stock markets, from the merest fundamentals for the beginner to intricate technicalities for the veteran trader."
