Sobre este artículo

This is an inscribed copy of the hunting/fishing book, "Stories of Lake, Field and Forest - Rambles of a Sportsman-Naturalist" by Frank A. Bates. 1899 1st edition; Scientific and Historical Books; South Braintree, Massachusetts. The book features a frontispiece portrait of Bates, nine other half-tone engravings, and an in-text illustration. Author's inscription on front end paper in ink, as follows: "Here's hoping - that you'll have as much fun reading it as I do sending it. Yours, F.A. Bates." There are seven pages of advertisements at the back.

The book is a collection of ten stories of fishing, hunting and camping in New England, as follows: Grouse Shooting Extraordinary; Fly-fishing for White Perch; Goose Shooting; Perch Fishing; A Tale of Winnipesaukee; Horn Pout Fishing; The Fox We Did Not Get; Insect Hunting in Winter; Lake Trout Fishing; The Naturalist in the White Mountains.

Condition:
Soiling to the covers; the spine has darkened. Sharp cover corners. Tight binding with no cracks and no loose pages. Both covers are firmly attached. Nice interior - the pages are clean with only a few random, light smudges found. The first 2 advertisement pages at the back have some small tears along the outer edge from the pages having been separated. Author's inscription written in pen on the front end paper. Overall the book is in Very Good condition.
