Sobre este artículo

London: Mills and Boon, 1911. First Edition. . Hardback. Good. First edition. Hardback, bound in the original blue cloth with gilt tilting to spine and upper board, and with tipped-in colour plate of HMS Neptune to upper board (this is repeated as frontispiece). 23 × 14.5cm, xiv + 371pp, ads. This copy has been signed by Almeric Paget to Richard Hennessy and dated 1911. Almeric Paget (1st Baron Queensborough) was an industrialist and Conservative politician who funded the Almeric Paget Massage Corps (later the Almeric Paget Military Massage Corps), a physiotherapy service during the Great War, and he acted as treasurer to the League of Nations for sixteen years. He was also a highly successful yachtsman. The recipient, Richard Hennessy, was a soldier who served in the Boer War and Great War. He was from the Hennessy Cognac family and lived at Saltcote Place in Rye. An illustrated history of the British Navy from the time of the Norman Conquest through to the Battle of Trafalgar, the close of the Crimean war and the creation of the modern navy. The book has 51 illustrations. Condition: Whilst the book remains in strong shape and in good readable condition, the pages are foxed throughout. Some of this foxing is quite heavy but as stated, the book is perfectly readable. Untrimmed page edges a bit tanned and light rubbing to the blue cloth.**PLEASE NOTE: As this is a heavy book, postage may have to be increased for overseas (non-UK) buyers, or decreased where appropriate.
