Sobre este artículo

New York: E.P. Dutton, 1915. Hardcover. Good (Boards have shelf/edgewear, smudging; bookplate on pastedown; ffep has long inscription to the previous owner, newspaper cuttings are tipped in page vii; photo and newspaper clipping is tipped in on rear free endpaper; at back inside cover, there is a press release tipped in; textblock is darkened and foxed; endpapers are more toned and foxed than the rest; there is one incidence of pen marking on the inside text, which does not interfere; binding is solid; some newspaper clippings have ends chipped off from age.). Green boards with gilt lettering and design; vii, 157 pp.; tipped in are a personalized letter from the author to the previous owner of the book, author Spencer Van Bokkelen Nichols, press release about the book, and other ephemera. This is a rare find! Included in this book are personalized letters, hand-typed poems to and by the author, contemporaneous newspaper clippings and press releases that build an interesting narrative about the book and why it was written. From Introduction -- "The story of Canada Blackie ... the man who was regarded as the most dangerous criminal in the state, became, through the same strength that made him dangerous, a loyal and trusted friend of authorities, helping to build up a new and better prison system by the sympathetic help of the prisoners themselves."-- Introduction.
