Sobre este artículo

E-311: Viking Books for Young Readers. Very Good in Very Good- dust jacket. 1936. First Edition; First Printing. Hardcover. Hardcover. 12mo. Square. The Viking Press, New York. 1936. Unpaginated. 32 pgs. First Edition/First Printing. Probable 1st State DJ has shelf-wear present to the DJ extremities (front flap is clipped, the rear flap is not). Bound in 1/2 cloth and matching illustrated paper covered boards with titles present to the spine. Boards have shelf-wear present to the extremities (top edge of the boards are lightly sunned and faded near the crown of the spine). No ownership marks present. Text is clean and free of marks. Binding tight and solid. Ferdinand is the world's most peaceful--and--beloved little bull. While all of the other bulls snort, leap, and butt their heads, Ferdinand is content to just sit and smell the flowers under his favorite cork tree. Leaf's simple storytelling paired with Lawson's pen-and-ink drawings make The Story of Ferdinand a true classic. Despite its beloved place in children's literature, the book was banned in many countries including Spain and Nazi Germany who denounced it as a pacifist work and 'democratic propaganda.' EB; 9.2 X 7.6 X 0.5 inches; 32 pages .
