Tight, attractive first edition with a superb autograph addition: Tipped to the front flyleaf is a Typed Note Signed from Henry, 1p, 8¼" X 11", Washington, DC, 1955 September 12. Addressed to noted Lincoln and Civil War scholar Arnold Gates (1914-93). Near fine. On "Association of American Railroads" letterhead, Henry thanks this officer of the New York Civil War Round Table: "I appreciate greatly your thought of sending me a copy of the brochure covering the history, progress and membership of the Civil War Round Table of New York, from 1950 to 1955. From a glance at the nature of the programs it is apparent why the interest in the subject has continued to grow...." Signed boldly in full.
