Hinges and gutters are slightly cracked with exposed netting. Clean pages with light tanning and mild foxing throughout. More pronounced to free endpapers and pastedowns. Pen inscription to front free endpaper. Binding remains firm. Boards have mild edge-wear with slight rubbing to surfaces and bumping to corners. Lettering is darkened. Moderate sunning to spine and edges with crushing to spine ends. Book has a slight forward lean. Visible wear marks to boards.

Henry Van Dyke was a preacher, university professor, diplomat, poet, translator, and author of many inspirational writings.  His most famous work is The Story of the Other Wise Man , one of the best loved and most inspiring of all Christmas classics, celebrating its triumphant centennial in 1996.
