UNREAD (clean & tight), but not quite perfect, 1997 HarperCollins hardcover (decorated blue boards) & dust jacket, first edition, 2nd printing. This text was originally published in 1995 under the name "Passover." The illustrations by Weihs are new to this edition. CONTENT: First published in 1965, this look at Passover has new illustrations that update the text. Simon begins with the story of the first Passover, in which Jewish slaves escaped from their Egyptian masters. She then goes on to explain the seder ceremony and how Jewish families prepare for the coming of this important holiday. Each page of text is decoratively bordered and faces a full-page picture with Jewish families prominently featured. There's nothing terribly exceptional here, just solid, standard fare. Readers: Ages 7 - 9.
