Featuring part of Arthur Conan Doyle's novel 'The Tragedy of the Korosko'. The Strand Magazine ran 711 issues between 1891 and 1950, and was founded by George Newnes. It comprised short fiction and articles regarding general fiction, and was immediately popular, circulating around half a million copies a month from the 1890s into the 1930s. Arthur Conan Doyle"s "Sherlock Holmes" saw their first publication in The Strand, as well as short stories by writers such as Agatha Christie and P. G. Wodehouse.Featuring chapter IV of Conan Doyle's 'Tragedy of the Korosko'.With contributors including Bret Harte, Mary Angela Dickens, Arthur Conan Doyle and Grant Allen, and illustrators including Sidney Paget, H. R.
