The Strand Magazine, London, 1919. First Edition. Hardcover. Good Condition/No Dust Jacket. Illustrator: Photographic And Illustrations. 301 -- 644 pages (paginated as continuation from previous publications). This is a bound version of The Strand Magazine -- volume 58 -- numbers 346, 347 and 348 published from October 1919 through to January 1920. Pale blue coloured boards with black coloured cloth tape to the backstrip. The magazines are illustrated with both colour and black-and-white illustrations and the occasional black-and-white photograph. A previous owner has placed the notation is "LVIII. 346. 347. 348." In black ink to the top edge of the front panel. Bumping and rubbing, underlying board is visible. Fading along the front fore edge of the book panels and lighter fading to the other edges. The top left-hand corner of the backstrip has a three cornered tear and the underlying magazine pages are visible. There is rubbing, staining and some handling marks to the book panels and backstrip region. Browning to the text block edges. The book is held together with staples and those staples have become slightly rusted. The front and back panel have come away from the glue, close to the staples (the only reason that they are with the book is the use of the cloth tape). Within the magazines are many short stories by various authors, including PG Wodehouse (at least two stories), Sapper, Sydney Horler and Frank Condon to name but a few.
