Sobre este artículo

Toronto: printed at the Methodist Conference Office, 1875. Fourh Canadian Edition. hardcover. near very good. Octavo, green cloth binding with gilt spine titles and decorations. 468 pages. A couple of darkened spots on spine, else very good. Includes prefaces to the first English edition, and all four Canadian editions. Ashworth (8 July 1813 - 26 January 1875) was a preacher manufacturer, and author who establisheded the Chapel for the Destitute at Rochdale in England. "These narratives are interesting for the glimpses they give of the life of the poor of the manufacturing disstricts. Thye mostly relate incidents that had come to his knowledge during his work amongst the poor. Ashworth's intimate knowledge of the class he described makes his 'Strange Tales' particularly valuable." --Wikipedia. 040407A
