Sobre este artículo

New York: Abbeville Press, 1988. by Howard Finster as told to Tom Patterson Photography by Roger Manley, Victor Faccinto and other friends of Howard Finster Stated First Edition with full number line 4to size square pictorial hardcover; 223 heavyweight, glossy pages From back: "...The Reverend Howard Finster had his first vision at the age of three, and by age fifteen he'd gotten the call to preach, traveling the tent-revival circuit and pastoring small churches. Not until much later did he realize that he mission as a "Stranger from Another World" was to save this world through his sacred art. His Paradise Garden in Pennville, Georgia - a labyrinthine wonderland of paintings, sculpture, and architecture - attracts thousands of visitors each year, and his individual pieces sell to eager collectors before the paint dries. (This book) overflows with his exuberant creations along with rare family photographs and early view of his environmental extravaganzas. Accompanying this widely entertaining assortment of images is Finster's own folksy, funny narrative, based on hundreds of hours of conversation taped and edited to Tom Patterson. The reverend tells his story the ear-tickling eloquence that has long enrapture in congregations and his art fans..." Howard Finster (1916 - 2001) became known for creating a sculpture garden he later called Paradise Garden in Summerville, Georgia, which now a public park. Finster was a Baptist minister who said God was the inspiration for his folk art and outsider art designs in sculpture and painting. We note some light scratches on covers.
