Sobre este artículo
The Macmillan Company, NY, 1925; First Edition, second printing (June, 1925); 8vo, 377 pages; illustrated. First book by Rabbi Lewis Browne, a revealing history of the Jews, with 50 illustrated maps by the author. Widely regarded as one of the foremost comparative religionists of his day, Browne graduated Hebrew Union College in 1920 and was ordained rabbi to Temple Beth Israel in Waterbury, Ct. by Rabbi Stephen Wise. He left the rabbinate in 1926 to devote his time more fully to writing, and was thereafter much in demand on the national lecture circuit, where he was frequently teamed with Sinclair Lewis. Browne died a mysterious death in 1949 at his home in Santa Monica, California reportedly of "suicide by poison." Fine, in illustrated red cloth boards with gilt titles. Clean, crisp, bright, and sharp, binding tight, sound, and square. No ownership signatures or any other markings of any kind. A handsome copy.
