Inscribed by the author to fellow writer Stephen Vizinczey and his wife. 'Straws in the Wind' is a collection of musings on a variety of subjects, including jogging, owls, picking berries, autumn mists, Christmas trees, and many more. Boyle claims the collection is intended to be an escape for those who are too old for protest and too young for rocking chairs. From the library of Hungarian-Canadian author Stephen Vizinczey, best known for his 'In Praise of Older Women', and 'An Innocent Millionaire'. His writing was praised by the likes of Graham Greene and Anthony Burgess, describing his fiction as social epics which breathe hope in a corrupt world. In the publisher's original cloth binding, with the original, unclipped dust wrapper. Externally, excellent, with light shelf wear and one or two marks to the cloth. Author's inscription to recto of the front endpaper. Dust wrapper is lightly soiled with the odd mark. Light edge wear to the wrap and sunning to the spine. Internally, firmly bound. Pages bright and clean. Near Fine

Based in the literary city of Bath, our offices are housed in the Eastern Dispensary. Built in 1845, the building originally existed as a charitable institution providing medical care. The building now houses our collection of over twenty thousand books and has five full time members of staff.
