The story, first published in 1891, follows the adventure of the narrator who comes to a desolate town only to discover that the women (from all races & classes including the courtesans) have gone on strike, leaving the men to fend for themselves. Their desire? To have equal rights and perfect ownership of their own bodies in regards to the "august martyrdom of maternity." Also describes the method of Zugassent that will help men prevent pregnancy. Inclds 10 pages of ads.
