These studies were planned to celebrate the completion of Professor Elliott's thirty-fifth year of service in the University, and were to be offered to him as a mark of his pupils' esteem for their teacher and an evidence of the profit they have derived from his scholarly example." Volume I: 450 pp. Fold-out map. Volume II: 334 pp. Brown cloth covers with gilt title lettering on front and faded lettering on spine. Cover corners are bumped and rubbed, edges rubbed, wear to cover faces. Spines are darkened, spine ends are bent and fraying. Volume II front cover is slighly warped and doesn't rest flat on interior of book. Page edges are browning with foxing spots. Endpapers are heavily foxed. Interior pages are browning along edges, some foxing spots. Books are in VG- condition.. Cloth. Very Good-. Illus. by Fold Out Map. Size: Approx. 6 1/4" x 9 1/2". Memoir.
