Signed and inscribed ("To Carol, Bruce Davidson") on the half-title page. Book is a first edition and dust jacket has a small rub and tear on the upper front corner, otherwise there is slight rubbing to the dust jacket. Gift quality. Davidson wrote a 10-page Forword explaining how and why he took these photographs. He spent a year photographing the New York subway system using Kodachrome 64 film in a Canon 35mm camera. Henry Geldzahler wrote an Afterword. Extra postage needed.
