Early American Imprints, 2nd ser. (Shaw & Shoemaker), 14476. Former owner's name on back endpapers: Maria Sayforth. The author, Thomas Belsham (1750-1829), was an English Unitarian minister. He served the Essex Street Chapel from 1805 till his death. "These Discourses contain the substance of a Course of Lectures delivered after the morning service to the young persons who attend unitarian worship at the chapel in Essex street."--[p. iii]. Very scarce. In Fair+ Condition: leather is rubbed with loss along spine; front board is almost detached; lacking front free endpaper; finger soiling, light foxing, and browning throughout; complete.
