London: John Murray, 1960. First Edition. Hard Cover. Dust Jacket. Signed by Author. First UK Edition. Publisher's green boards with gilt lettering to the spine and blind-stamped with bells to the front board. SIGNED BY THE AUTHOR Patterned end-papers. A near fine copy with boards/ spine/ corners all well preserved without any bumping. Top edge lightly dust-dulled but hardly worth mentioning, the text block free of foxing and quite fresh looking, ie, not yellowed. A lovely copy. The D/W is also in near fine condition with a 2cm closed tear to the top of the front panel. Top of spine slightly worn, mostly on the right corner with a 0.7cm closed tear with a tiny amount of loss at the very top (2mm X 2mm approx). Three other corners slightly shelf-rubbed resulting in a tiny amount of loss (approx 1 - 2mm) with an additional nick or two/ small crease to the base of the front panel. None of the usual darkening of the spine and quite scarce thus. Signed by the Author on the half-title page. Quite scarce in this lovely un-touched condition. The D/W is NOT price-clipped.
