Sobre este artículo

[Salem, Or, 1957. Very good.. [12]pp. Small quarto. Original pictorial wrappers printed in black, gilt, and pink, stapled. Minor wear and dust soiling, small smudge on covers and margin of first text leaf, two short rows of mathematical notations on rear cover. A seemingly unrecorded supplemental issue of the Chemawa American, a weekly (then biweekly) periodical produced by and for the Chemawa Indian School near Salem, Oregon. According to the title page of the present supplement, printed on the inside front cover, this publication was intended to show "Chemawa Activities, People and Scenes Shown in Pictures." And that's exactly what it shows. Most pages are essentially a photocollage of images showing the Chemawa campus, academic activities, the activities of the various departments (agriculture, home economics, shop, etc.), and a page showing a variety of other basic school activities. In addition to the photocollages, two pages feature portraits of the young men and women comprising the "Class of 1957," arranged alphabetically. The work seems, basically, like a a condensed version of a yearbook, and may have been the only version of a yearbook provided for the students at the Chemawa Indian School. We could locate no other copies of this supplement for any year.
