Used - near fine. 4to; 182pp. A square, tight and unmarked copy, with a faint rectangular label ghost on upper front cover. Laid in is an ALS from Black, to Dr John Carson (cardiologist from La Jolla, CA) responding to Carson's favorable review of the book, and asking Black to consider membership in the American Osler Society. Also included is a University of Toronto note card, 'with the compliments of Michael Bliss', signed by Bliss. Bliss was a Canadian historian, known for his correcting the myths of Insulin's discovery. Finally, the book is inscribed (to Dr. Carson?) by Ken Ott (Scripps neurosurgeon), 'Peter Black and I were interns and residents together...'. The book has Dr. Carson's ownership inscription.
