Later printing of the new edition, near fine hardcover shows just a touch of wear including light age toning to pages, else tight and clean, in very good + dust jacket (price at flap) that shows a couple of small faint stains, hint of exposure toning along spine, light soil and edgewear and light blemish at flap where price stciker must have been placed over jacket price at one time. 351 pages with black & white illustrations and endpaper maps. Still a good looking copy of this first in the beloved series of books for children.
Sinopsis
Swallows and Amazons is the first book in the Swallows and Amazons series by Arthur Ransome and was first published in 1930. It is set in the Lake District between the two World Wars. At the time Ransome had been working as a journalist with the Manchester Guardian, but decided to become a full-time author rather than go abroad as a foreign correspondent. He continued to write part-time for the press.
