Harper & Brothers, 1848-01-01. Hardcover. Good. This pair of red cloth books with embossed and gold decoration are both worn heavily around the edges, corners worn round, there is some soiling. The spines are worn to threads and splitting at the base, gold decoration is still legible. Interiors tanned and some spots here and there, front endpaper removed from volume two, a brilliant book dealer wrote "2 vol" in red pencil on the rear inside cover of vol 2, light foxing on Vol 2 more than 1.
