Sobre este artículo

Hardback. Fair. Swan Sonnenschein, London, 1910, 6th edition; with a slip tipped in on the title page advising that the publishers are now Allen & Company, London; 8vo, pp half-title, [iii], [1], 2-234; well illustrated in the text with line drawings and other images; original green cloth gilt, bright, tears at both ends of the spine; internally cracked at one point but with the binding still complete and firm; blind embossed ownership address and a few other notes on the front end paper; slight foxing on the prelims but internally clean and overall still a very reasonable copy. The artist and botanist Frederick Edward Hulme was best known as the author of "Familiar Wild Flowers". In this work, however, he looks at the history, origins and relevance of symbolism in a wide range of Christian art.
