Lund, Sweden: Aesti Kirjanike Kooperatiiv, 1964. A unique copy of the first collection of poetry by noted Estonian poet and literary scholar Ivar Ivask. Ivask was editor of World Literature Today and coordinator of the Neustadt International Prize for Literature and the Puterbaugh Conferences. This first collection was published in 1964 while Ivask was teaching at St. Olaf College in Northfield, Minnesota. 71 Pages in Estonian, it is lightly tanned with a couple of small spots to the wraps. Inside the front cover is Ivask's personal bookplate. He has inscribed on the front end paper to a fellow professor "For Haldor Hove - best regards in a language that is almost Finnish! Ivar / Northfield / St. Olaf, Nov. 28, 1964." Laid in are four typewritten pages titled "Nine Poems by Ivar Ivask," with hand written corrections.
