Sobre este artículo

Glasgow and Edinburgh: Scottish Television - Mainstream Publishing, 1982. Book. Very Good. Soft cover. First Editions. 160, 172, 184 pp. All three books have light edge and corner wear with flat uncreased spines; Danger in the Glen has a crease on the front hinge; no interior markings. The first two books are illustrated with black and white stills from the STV television show. Created by Don Houghton, the series started in 1980 and ran until 2003, first as Take the High Road and then as simply High Road, starring Eileen McCallum, Alex Monteath, Caroline Ashley, Gwyneth Guthrie, Lesley Fitz-Simons, John Stahl, and a host of others. The books and the TV series tell the everyday story of a West Highland village in the 1980s. Glendarroch Estate, and the village that shares its name, are situated in the West of Scotland, a fair bit north of Glasgow. It's a tight knit community, the folk at the big house being very much in touch with what goes on down in the village and up on the high ground where the crofters lead a hard life by today's standards. Many of the traditional ways survive, but Glendarroch and its people are not cut off from the problems and pressures of the modern world. To be clear, the three books here are: One: Take the High Road; Two: Danger in the Glen; and Three: Mist on the Moorland..
