New York: Frederick Warne & Co., 1956. First Edition (stated) . Wheat Cloth. Fine Book/Very Good + Dust Jacket. 6 3/8" Tall. First trade edition, after a small limited edition the previous year. Wheat boards with blue lettering on spine and front panel. Off-white dustjacket printed in black (only). A bright, clean copy. 1/4" red ink line on rear endpaper; 1" very light blue line on dustjacket cover; no other marks. Dustjacket aged on spine and all edges; 3/8" x 3/16" chip at top of spine; 1/8" chip center of rear flap fold; 1/8" chips at each of four tips and small 1/8" chip at foot of spine; light wear along flap folds.
