Humphrey Milford/ Oxford University Press. London. 1932. FIRST NICOLL GORDON EDITION. Small 4to. (9.4 x 7 inches). Illustrated with 12 full colour plates, mounted onto the page within a decorative black printed border, colour illustrated endpapers and several black and white drawings throughout the text, all by Gordon Nicoll. A fine birght copy in Publisher's original light blue cloth with dark blue blocking and titles and illustration in silver to the upper board and spine. Top edge silver. Complete with the rare original illustrated dustwrapper which has a couple of tiny chips and is just a little toned to the spine. Housed in the publisher's original colour illustrated card slipcase. An excellent, fine copy, the binding clean and square, the contents clean throughout and without previous owner's inscriptions or stamps. The pictorial slipcase remains firm and intact with a little rubbing to the extremities. An attractive example, uncommon in this complete condition.
