Oxford: Basil Blackwell. First Edition. Hardcover. Very Good. Printed for private circulation only. Original pale blue hardback with paper label to spine. Rubbed and darkened, nonetheless still in very good shape with strong joints. Contents sound and clean, just slightly age toned. Not from a library so no such stamps or labels. Size: 200mm x 138mm. Collation: pp. 133, complete with illustrative plates. Note: the endpaper shows a handwritten dedication to A.N. Balfour from F.R.S.B. dated 1925. Also note, a few dates within the text have been corrected, apparently by the same hand as the dedication. Thus a very good copy of a very scarce item.
