London: W. Collins Sons & Co., Ltd, 1923. First edition. Hardcover. g. Octavo. XII, 317, [7]pp. Original blue cloth with orange lettering on front cover and spine. Printer's device on title-page. Scarce and fascinating work from the first of the American novelists to convey the disillusionment and consequent rebelliousness of post-war American youth - the representatives of the so-called Jazz Age. This work is a compilation of 11 short stories, including: "The Jelly-Bean", "The Camel's Back", "May Day", "Porcelain and Pink", "The Diamond as Big as the Ritz", "The Curious Case of Benjamin Button", "Tarquin of Cheapside", "O Russet Witch!", "The Lees of Happiness", "Mr. Icky", "Jemina, the Mountain Girl". Some age wear on binding with joints and corners rubbed. Head and tail of spine chipped. Spine somewhat faded. Minor age-toning along paper margin. Binding in overall fair, interior in good to very good condition.
