The Teacher's Christmas Secret by Emma Miller has Cora and Tobit in for a bumpy ride. Cora Kauffman finally gets her chance to be a teacher. Unfortunately, Tobit Lapp, the current teacher, insists on Cora following his lesson plans and letting him grade the papers. The author has created great characters for this series. I enjoy spending time with them. The Kauffman family is always entertaining. I laughed often while reading the story. I like how faith was weaved into the story. We get to see that our timing is not always God's timing, and that God answers our prayers just not in the way we expected. We also see that untruths and secrets have a way of being revealed despite our attempts to keep them buried in the past. The Teacher's Christmas Secret is the third book in the Seven Amish Sisters series. It can be read as a standalone, but I recommend reading each book in this charming series. I am eager for Henry's story. The Teacher's Christmas Secret is a cute story with teaching troubles, boisterous boys, sympathetic sisters, a surprising secret, a Christmas presentation, and a rocky romance.
