NY: G.P. Putnam's Sons, 1954. First Edition, first printing. First US edition, first printing of this Pulitzer Prize winning play, adapted by John Patrick based on the 1951 novel by Vern Sneider. This book was actually published in 1954 although the publisher only states 1952 on the copyright page. Signed presentation from Patrick on the front endpaper: "To George, I don't even have a hard-cover copy of this play. Will you will it to me? Best, Patrick." First Edition copies can be found that have been signed by cast members of the play but copies signed by Patrick are uncommon!. 8vo., black cloth in dust jacket; 180 pages. Near fine (covers very nice; contents clean & tight); extremely minor wear (little sunning spine; $3.00 price is present on the front flap) d/j.
