Includes Irish, Scottish Gaelic, Manx and English languages. Series I, Toronto, 1953-1960: Vol. I # 1-6; Vol. II #7-12; Vol. III # 1-12 with Index (whole no. 13-24); Vol. IV #1-12 (whole no. 25-36) & Series II, Toronto, 1961-1963: Vol. V #1-5 plus index (whole no. 37-41). 41 issues + 2 indexes. Initially, Teangadoir was intended to be written entirely in Irish Gaelic but it began to be published in English from 1961. The first Series (1953-1960) deals with Irish, English and Canadian literature, the second Series relates more the Canadian literature. Byrne was born near Dublin in 1908. He emigrated to Canada with his family when he was five and developed an interest in Irish Gaelic literature while attending university. Individual issues also available..
