Sobre este artículo

Baltimore, Maryland: Thomas Dobbin, Printer & publisher, number 2647, April 4, 1803. First edition. Original broadsheet newspaper, single sheet measuring 21.25 inches by 26.5 inches folded once vertically forming 4 pages. Text in five columns, printed on laid paper. Brigham, Bibliography of American Newspapers 1690-1820 (1962 edition), vol. I, pp. 249 & 250.

Old folds, moderately toned, foxed, & soiled, lightly tattered, some creasing, small loss in the lower margin not affecting text, a very good copy.

A poignant & horrific newspaper which includes several advertisements for runaway African American slaves, an example of which is provided in full below.

"Twenty Dollars Reward.
RAN away from the subscriber, living in Anne Arundel County, near South River, State of Maryland, on the 5th of July instant, a negro girl named KITTY JOYCE; about 20 years of age; of a yellow complexion; straight and well made; has a mole on one side of her nose; and bushy hair. Her clothing when she ran off, was entirely of osnaburg. Her parents live in Annapolis with James Williams, Esq. but she was seen crossing the lower Ferry at Patapsco, near Baltimore, on Sunday the 10th in company with a runaway negro fellow named Toby, from Mr. Richard Dorsey, near Annapolis, who has since advertised said negro.
I will give the above reward for securing her in any jail in the State, so that I get her again, and reasonable charges if brought home.
SOLOMON GROVES.
N.B. I hereby forewarn all persons from harboring, concealing, or carrying off said negro Kitty at their Peril."
