Bentley & Son, London, vol 64 for the period January to April 1882 and with the issue for May 1882 also bound in; 8vo, pp 620, 144; half roan, corners and spine extensively rubbed, lower spine hinge to board split and with also a small split on the upper hinge and the inner front hinge also cracked at the title page joint. A miscellany of poetry, short and long serialised fiction, travel, social and other comment, reviews and observations on a wide range of topics of possible interest to its educated, middle-class target audience. Published monthly between 1860 and 1906 the magazine became one of the leading literary magazines of the period, publishing work by Trollope, Conan Doyle, Wilkie Collins and others, noe of those named, however, appearing in this volume.
