Sobre este artículo

London: Printed for Bernard Lintott, 1715. 8vo, pp. 52, [4, ads] + frontispiece. Later blue paper wrappers. Somewhat spotted and soiled (especially half-title), margins of frontispiece and first three leaves repaired. The second edition, same year as the first, of Pope’s modernisation of Chaucer’s ‘House of Fame’. The major difference between the two editions is the advertisements at the end, which in the first edition are entirely for Urry’s edition of Chaucer, then in preparation, while in the second edition they are a general catalogue of Lintot’s publications (perhaps due to Urry’s death in March 1715; his Chaucer was thereby delayed until 1721). ESTC T5754; Foxon P975.

Located in the basement of a listed 1820s tenement building at the top of Edinburgh's Leith Walk, we are the only open shop in Edinburgh holding membership of the Antiquarian Booksellers Association. We stock rare, antiquarian, and collectable books on all subjects, along with a substantial range of secondhand books for browsing. Our gallery space currently hosts Typewronger Books, offering new books and secondhand typewriters.
