A detailed and fascinating description of one of the most magnificent botanical books ever published. Originally published 1797-1807 in parts, with superb color flower plates by a number of the best artists of the day, the original, and even individual plates, are highly sought after and rare. King was Secretary to the Royal Botanic Gardens at Kew. This is the best of several works on Thornton's famous work. A picture of this book is available on request by email.
